nips senators 6.12.07 The Fordians (13-1) continue their winning ways with another key victory tonight. Although the Senators are a non-league game this was still a solid win. Albany (5-1) is atop the Tholl division in the Albany Twilight League. The game opened up with Waterfords Charlie Yarnold (RPI) breezing through the first inning. The Fordians then threatened as lead off hittert catcher Rob Cowin (Clarkson) and Al Williams (Siena) singled behind him. Some crafty pitching and timely plays helped the Senators out of the inning. Both Pitchers settled in for the next two innings, and then the Fordians struck. With two outs Adam Lasek (RPI), and Paul Terry Walked to bring Bill Kelts (New Paltz) to the plate. Kelts had a single to load the bases and Chris Chisina drove in the games first run on an error and gave Waterford the lead in the 4th inning. The lead was held by Waterford until the 5th inning where the Senators scored the only run on a fielding mistake. This seemed to be the only hiccup for Waterford. As Charlie Yarnold (2-0) then settled down and went a complete game, giving up one unearned run to earn his second victory of the year. With the game being tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 5th inning the game looked to be a pitchers dual. Waterford then took the lead over, when shortstop Jacob Fisher (FMCC) hustled down the line to cause an error by Albany. This allowed center fielder Josh Gregory (HVCC) one of Waterfords most dangerous bats to come up. Josh Hit a 2-1 pitch deep over the left field wall for a 2 run homer driving in Fisher to give Waterford and Yarnold all the runs they needed. This was Joshes 1st Home Run of the season and it was a big one. Waterford had timely hitting and great defense to put this win in the books. Other highlights for the Fordians were Paul Terry (HVCC) 1 for 2 with a double, Yarnold with his 2nd complete game, and Cowin now leads the team in hit by pitches. Waterford will continue league play this Friday against Guilderland.
Fordians move to 8-1 as Yarnold and Chesina sweep Utica Falcons june 2 Utica The Waterford Fordians traveled to Utica Sunday for a league showdown with the Utica Falcons. The Falcons quickly found out why the Fordians are 3 time league champions. Charlie Yarnold (RPI) threw a complete game 2 hitter and gunned down 14 of the birds with his 90+ MPH heater. Paul Terry (HVCC), led the Fordians with his 6th HR of the season a 2 run lazer over the left field wall ala Gary Sheffield to secure the 4-1 victory. In the Nightcap the Fordians fell behind 3-0 in the 2nd then proceeded to pound out 21 hits off 3 Falcon pitchers en route to a 14-3 victory. Bill Kelts (NEW PALTZ) 4/4 and Al Williams(SIENA) 3/4 lead the attack as Chris Chisina (HVCC) relieved Dan Romano (Addacus) the 3rd for the victory. The Fordians are on the "A" Diamond Friday Night for a league twilight doubleheader against the Knights. Waterford

We are hoping to have this completed by early spring and be playing this entire season under the lights. You can check out so pictures under the photo link.
